Nightmare on contaminated city.

Film of 1980 by Umberto Lenzi, with Hugo Stiglitz, Mel Ferrer, Francisco Rabal, Laura Trotter, Maria Rosaria Omaggio. Seveso
say it could also be Chernobyl. Singles
premonition of nuclear catastrophe that instead of weakening them enhances the contaminated to the point they become difficult to control. Lenzi will not hear the word zombie to define these monsters (though in the interview posted on his time used the term) but to contaminated. In fact, do not move like zombies, but as ordinary men with a frightening degree of aggressiveness. The radiation have made a failure in the hemoglobins that necessitates continuous blood transfusions or barbaric murders to get the valuable plasma. In practice, the contaminated become dangerous vampires. Of course
contamination spread and the problem tends to be magnified. The only way to stop is contaminated to shoot the skull.

The protagonist of this film is a petrified Hugo Stiglitz, Mexican actor famous in his country and much of what Tarantino was named for one of his characters in Inglourious Basterds . Lenzi said rightly that this actor moved evil "would not have wanted to, being a recommended production. For the lead role would see better Franco Nero and John Saxon. But incredibly, and perhaps unintentionally, this German surname from Mexico shows an uncanny ability to be friendly and family As the film goes on (not a small feature, and very important, especially for a genre such as adventure, thriller or horror).
Mel Ferrer, a famous American actor, here playing the role of general Murchinson. A soldier of democracy, full of scruples, but also resolute when conditions did not allow choice.
Francisco Rabal is the largest Holmes, who is the link between Murchinson and the various events taking place in the film, in addition, he is also pleased to be the lover of Maria Rosaria Omaggio at the peak of form.
Laura Trotter is the wife of Joseph Stiglitz, and plays a doctor who will do a little whining to a bad end (in the dream or reality?)

Nightmare contaminated the city (a title I like, up in the city Nightmare English) is part of the catastrophic kind / splatter / horror that was in vogue 30 years ago. The film is full of massacres, plasma, exploitations, but also the finest performances that is not the place to reveal.
an interesting conclusion: You might think that good triumphs over evil, but the problem remains unresolved, or at least it opens the solution as the viewer remains the doubt that this was a bad dream of the protagonist or, unfortunately, a premonitory nightmare.

I only recommend this film to fans of the genre (precise that I liked it).
The vision must be closely accompanied by popcorn, potato chips and a good liquid to swallow everything.
